WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

TROY DOCKING

As he relaxes on the shores of Busselton with fishing rod in his hand, Troy “Docs” Docking has pictured in his mind many fond memories of Lynwood Ferndale Football Club. Doc’s playing career started in the colts for Lynwood in 1987 and he continued to play on and off until 2005. He played roughly 195 games mainly in the reserves, but also played a fair amount of colts and league. He played the game hard and tough and mainly played in the centre or at fullback. He played during a successful time for Lynwood and one of his playing highlights was winning the 2001 reserves premiership which he was co-captain with his good mate Darren “Daccas” Gregory. With a tattoo on his back a clear reminder of that fantastic year. Other highlights of his time at Lynwood were the social functions and social nights which included player’s reviews, men’s nights, auction nights and beerfests. He was also rewarded with life membership in 2005 for playing 150 lffc games. Doc’s was also heavily involved with Lynwoods juniors becoming junior president for a couple of years and also coaching junior teams for five years, while his two sons Justin and Tristan were playing. In November 2005 Troy, Wife Joanne, and children Justin, Tristan and Tenaya moved to Busselton for a lifestyle change and have never looked back. They bought an older house which they are slowly renovating and adding rooms between work and leisure activities. Doc’s now has his own gyprocking business and spends his spare time fishing on his boat or at the beach and camping around different parts of the south west. He is still highly involved  in football playing for the Busselton Bombers in the Onshore Cup League, which is a social league that plays fortnightly. Doc’s has coached both his sons teams since moving to Busselton and was rewarded with coaching Tristan’s Under 15′s team to a premiership in 2011, ten years after winning with Lynwoods Reserves. He is currently coaching one of the Under 17′s teams and still likes to watch West Coast and Fremantle on the TV. Everyone at Lynwood Ferndale Football Club wish Troy and his family all the best for the future.
